Kaboom! Brooklyn Hails the Return of the Warlord After 15 Years

Bounty Killer Blesses Boomshots With Exclusive Interview Before the Big Show

There’s no denying the fact tat Bounty Killer is a Jamaican legend. After all, the government bestowed the Order of Distinction upon the man born Rodney Price on National Hero’s Day this past December. Nevertheless, Killer has never hidden the fact the New York City— especially the borough of Brooklyn—played a huge role is his worldwide success. It was BK native Johnny Wonder who first recognized Killer’s breakthrough hit “Copper Shot,” and brought it to New York DJs. And New York’s champion sound system King Addies boasts one of the most lethal collections of Killer dubplates in the world. So it’s been a cruel irony that Bounty has been unable to perform in NYC since 2010 due to visa issues. Remember the days when Killer could just pop up at Mavado’s release party? It’s been a long time! But nmow the wait is over. On July 5, 2025 history wil be made when ReggaeFest presents Bounty & Friends at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Boomshots caught up with the Warlord for an exclusive interview before the big show.
