  • PREMIERE: The Club Famous Riddim

How  Portmore Night Club Drops A New Juggling Produced by Richie D
    FamousRiddimBoom

The newly opened Famous Nightclub in Portmore has linked with esteemed dancehall producer Richard “Richie D” Martin to drop a brand new juggling called the Club Famous riddim featuring new tracks from the Warlord, Bounty Killer, the Doctor Beenie Man, Voicemail, Stacious, Richie Loop and the “drunken master” Future Fambo. “The Famous riddim is a beat done with live drums and bass,” says producer Richie D. “I’ve always wanted to produce live music with an original dancehall (live stage show) kinda vibe. The riddim track was original named “stage show,” but after speaking with Gary Matalon about doing a track for Famous Night Club, we decided to rename it “Famous.” Bounty Killa’s song “Still Gamous” was the first song I wrote for the beat and the “Killa” killed it. Working with Fambo, Stacious, Richie Loops and Stein was an adventure—especially being off the production scene for a few years—all are very talented and great to work with. Beenie Man did a great job as well. Look out for other songs to be released on the Famous riddim soon. We’re also working on Famous 2 coming this Christmas.”

“KLE Group’s second nightclub concept is named Famous Nightclub,” says Gary Matalon, a partner in KLE Group. “Famous Nightclub is located in Portmore Jamaica. Its 12,000 square feet of amazing decor, light and sound. Since Cactus Nightclub, which closed over 10 years ago, there hasn’t been a premium, world-class club in this area. The concept was developed as a home for Jamaican music. Famous boasts the best in live entertainment including top selectors and artists as well as showcases upcoming talent.”

“We decided that a great way to embed our brand in the dancehall community would be contribute to the music directly,” Matalon said of the club’s decision to drop a riddim. The idea of leveraging our relationships with some of the greatest talent in the industry gives us a great opportunity to do just that. The songs on the Famous riddim will be great exposure and promotion for the club while the club provides a perfect platform to push the songs.”

Richie D prepared a special Boomshots mix especially for this premiere to show off all the new tracks on the juggling. Audio After The Jump… (more…)
