Jamaican And African Voices, Singing From BK To The Motherland
Peter and Gramps Morgan recently linked up with Meta Dia at Coptic’s Brooklyn soundlab, headquarters of The Black Star Line Movement. Born in Ghana, West Africa, Coptic moved to the US at a young age and become a successful producer, working with the like of The Notorious B.I.G. and Puff Daddy. His new mission is “Close To My Roots,” an album that combines emerging African artists with American rappers. But this particular remix brings in Peter (aka Peetah) Morgan of Morgan Heritage fame with the Senegalese reggae singer Meta and his Brooklyn-based ensemble The Cornerstones.
