Vybz Kartel Appeal Moves Forward

Gaza Fans Rejoice But There’s Still A Long Road Ahead

Gaza fans are celebrating at today’s news that Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants have been granted “leave” to pursue his appeal. His Lawyer Tom Tavares-Finson told the Jamaica Observer that this was an important step in the case. “It’s the first but critical step in the appeal process,” the prominent attorney explained. “A single judge, Justice Frank Williams, has read all the papers from the trial and determined that there are grounds on which an appeal could be allowed, so he has given the green light to proceed. We will move on to a full appeal in September. It is a limited victory, but an important moral victory for my client, as it reinforces the notion in his mind that justice will be srved and he will be acquitted.” Full Story & Video After The Jump…  Read more »

Eye of A Tiger: New Song Highlights The Style of Reggae Veteran Tiger

New Twin of Twins Song  Shines A Bright Light On Tiger’s Classic “When”

“Bun Again” by Twin of Twins comments on tumultuous relationships in dancehall.  Mr. Vegas, Foota Hype and Gully Bop are featured in the video,  along with  their close encounters with infidelity and domestic violence. The song discusses these serious topics in a satirical way. The beginning of the song also lyrically makes reference to 2016 Grammy Nominated Artist, Barrington Levy  and his classic “Too Experienced.” Produced by Anju Blaxx, the intro is the classic song “Woman is Like A Shadow” by The Meditations.  Moreover, the entire song is a remake of “When” by  living legend, Tiger.  More After The Jump Read more »

Right After Shelling Down Sting, The Princess of the Dancehall Chats With Reshma B

The Princess of the Dancehall has had one hell of year—ever since she dropped that counteraction to Chris Brown’s “Loyal” we’ve had a feeling there might be some trouble on the homefront. Now of course it’s well known that her 9-year relationship with selector and rpoducer Foota Hype is over, and the ensuing media frenzy—complete with sordid allegations on both sides—had the Internets ablaze last year. Meanwhile The Princess of the Dancehall’s music career has thrived on the controversy, getting hotter than ever. Shortly after shelling down Sting 2014, I-Shawn told Reshma B that 2014 was “the worst year and the best year of my life.” The Princess of the Dancehall also answers the burning question: Can she quint better than she cooks? Tony Matterhorn Kills Them With Classics At P Diddy’s Bad Boy Sound Clash

Diddy Jetted Down To Kingston JA To Bless The Winner With $20,000 Prize Money
It’s not every day that Puff Daddy jets down to Jamaica to throw a soundclash. But earlier this month he did just that, with a little help from Downsound, the same folks who teamed up with Supreme Promotions to make this year’s Sting extra-hot. Word is the whole plan came together within 24 hours, but you know what they say… real Bad Boys move in silence. Diddy kicked things off by rocking a few of his classic cuts, then he was joined by Beenie, Flippa, Kippo & Ninja. (Diddy’s pretty much done it all, but he looked genuinely geeked to be rocking a stage in Kingston.) After that it was time for the big clash, and Matterhorn dealt with them wicked. Video After The Jump… Read more »
