The Turf Prez Represents Yard A Foreign

The annual Hummingbird Gala hosted by The American Friends of Jamaica will take place this Monday 23rd October at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Manhattan’s Columbus Circle. This year all attendees will have the pleasure of a live performance by the Turf President, Busy Signal. Supporting the foundation’s important philanthropic work on behalf of Jamaica, Busy is carrying on a long tradition of giving back. Continued After The Jump…

The Jamaican reggae star known for international smash hits like “Bumaye” with Major Lazer and such girls classics as “One More Night” comes as a fitting choice since Busy himself has constantly extended his hand to helping others and his country. In more recent years the star launched the Busy 20/20 Helping Hands Foundation through which he  donated X-ray/CAT scan equipment to hospitals back in his hometown in St Ann, Jamaica.

Busy’s also one of the biggest dancehall names in Africa and this year he announced his interest in launching a music foundation to support young musicians in Zimbabwe. “Empowering youths is the reason we are teaming up with local sponsors so we can reach out and make a music foundation to change someone’s life because I know deep down that this music is not coming from Jamaica only, but it is coming from the whole of Africa,” he says. “I have seen that Zimbabwean people love dancehall and reggae music, so I will go through it to see how we can set up a Busy Signal music foundation.”

One thing you can count on when Busy is billed for a show is that it is going to be worth every penny.
