Rihanna Honored As Harvard University’s Humanitarian of the Year

Robyn Rihanna Fenty Graciously Accepts Award on Harvard University Campus

On February 28, 2017 students and faculty filled the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University. The gathering was held to honor musical artist, Rihanna for her philanthropy and exemplary compassion humanitarianism. More After The Jump…

Notably, Rihanna generously supported many projects including a project in 2006 called the “Believe Foundation.” This was her first philanthropic effort to help terminally ill children by providing medical, educational, emotional and financial support. Rihanna served as an ambassador for the UNICEF Tap project which funds clean water and sanitation projects in third world countries. The Clara Lionel Global Scholarship Program (named in honor of Rihanna’s grandmother) provides millions of dollars in scholarships and health causes internationally. Rihanna built a state of the art, breast cancer treatment center at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados.

To be selected as a recipient of the “Humanitarian of the Year” at Harvard University is truly a top honor. Other recipients of this prestigious award include, James Earl Jones, Ban Ki-Moon and Malala Yousafzai.

    I would say that this is a deserving award for Rihanna, and thanks to Angel love for bringing it to my attention, as of this date, the only place that I have heard of Rihanna getting this award is here on Boomshots….go figure
