HEAR THIS: Mavado “Soldiers”

JA Productions and the Gully Gaad Send A Livication To Roach
Mavado
Mavado strikes a mournful tone on his latest release, which he livicates to “all the fallen soldiers.” But there’s no doubt which soldier he had in mind when he voiced this tune for JA Productions. Patrick “Roach” Samuels was murdered shortly after co-producing “Give It All To Me,” Mavado’s collaboration with Nicki Minaj that is currently tearing up the charts in yard and foreign. Justus Arison, Roach’s partner in JA Productions, put together a backing track that sets an appropriately somber mood with its heavy dubbed-out horn line. “Reunite when this battle is over,” Mavado sings, “but they always seem to take the ones who close to me.” As every wise artist knows, music alone shall live, and never die. Audio After The Jump…
