WATCH THIS: Barrington Levy Live in NYC

Tell Them Already Have To Tell Them Again, Him A Murrrrdera!

This year’s Hot 97 On Da Reggae Tip showcase was all about singers: From Gyptian, the man with the big tune of the moment, to the young veteran Mr. Vegas, to a surging Serani, the Alliance’s top pop threat. But when it comes to legendary dancehall singers, Barrington Levy has few living rivals. As the man himself puts it in his Broader Than Broadway Part 2, “She haffi confess / That I am the best / Caw me took the S offa Superman’s chest…” When you’re talking about a catalog of hits (“Murderer,” “Under Me Sensi,” “Teach The Youths,” “My Woman,” “What Kind of World,” “Living Dangerously,” “Broader Than Broadway,” “Bad Boys” whether feat Shyne or not) Barrington can’t be touched. Not sure how old Mr. Levy is in human years, but his voice still rings out as clear and strong as ever. But don’t take my word for it. Judge for yourself…

Ready for Part 2? Wanna see Jabba challenge Barrington to a fast-chatting contest? Tune in…
