Go Ahead And Go Chasing Waterfalls

The latest single off Raging Fyah’s third album, Everlasting, has a brand new splashy video shot in the most amazing waterfall this side of Niagra—and with a tune like this you won’t need Viagra. You see, Raging Fyah’s song, producde by Lamar “Riff Raff” Brown, isn’t actually about water per se. It’s sorta like a metaphorical kinda thing—or is that a simile? Remember when Ludacris dropped that “Splash Waterfalls” joint? This is kinda like that, only reggaematically inclined. Why not just watch for yourself? Video After The Jump…

WATCH THIS: Shenseea "Jiggle Jiggle" Official Music Video

Debut Video From Dancehall’s New Girl On The Block

Brandishing a criss baseball bat customized with her Twitter handle, Shenseea and a crew of twerktastic dancing girls take over an automobile scrapyard and basically wreck shit. That’s the plot summary for “Jiggle Jiggle,” the latest addition to the burgeoning subgenre of bruk-out dancehall videos. And so what if it’s not all that different from other booty videos? As a wise man once said, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”—or, in this case, smash it with a baseball bat. An RD Studios production, “Jiggle Jiggle” is Shenseea’s first music video, a visual interpretation of the likkle-but-tallawah young artist’s breakout hit, produced by Romeich Entertainment and distributed by 21st Hapilos. Shenseea stands out from most of the other tough-talking dancehall damsels through sheer intensity. “Me lyrically bad!” she asserted in a recent IG post. “Yeah me lyrics dem EXPLICIT, Punch lines so refine like the sand when u sieve it.” So when she says “Keep up!” you’d better believe she’s not just talking to her lover. Beaches, Bikinis, Waterfalls—It’s All In a Day’s Work

We may be close to the end of August, but trust and believe summer is still in full effect. Summer 2016 has been a big season for reggae and dancehall in the international pop charts, although much of it got labeled as “tropical house” in the mainstream media. That’s why you’ve got to love Konzequence Muzik Group for naming their summer juggling the “Tropical House Riddim”—a strategic move to rebrand this true Jamaican dancehall track in the midst of everything that’s going. “It’s all about a party vibes,” says reggae star Gyptian of his song on the riddim, a thing called “Summer Is Back.” Today Boomshots proudly premieres the official music video which is fully loaded with plenty of girls in bikinis, cool drinks, a secluded tropical waterfall—why can’t every day be like this? EquiKnoxx & Swing Ting Got Whole Place Bubbling
We all remember when Equiknoxx joined forces with PR Reggaeton legend DJ Blass for the ‘Link Up’ mixtape earlier this year. It seems a hint of that same Latin sabor still lingers in the air, mixed with the usual Jamaican aroma. With Devin Di Dakta on the mic, Spacebird Jamrock and the crew have cooked up a musical thing called “Bubble,” which Boomshots proudly premieres today. When the “Bubble” officially bursts on the UK-based Swing Ting label, in short, the world will be in trouble. “The link with Equiknoxx was formed by mutual friend Joseph ‘Joey Lyric’ Dyke who introduced me to Gavin,” says Devin, who’s had the ladies in a frenzy with tunes like “RrriBomBiDenDeng” and assorted other unmentionables. “Working with Equiknoxx was a fun experience,” the DJ adds.” As the riddim started playing everyone in the studio began dancing so it was having fun while creating.” That feeling is, shall we say, contagious. HEAR THIS: Kranium x Tory Lanez "We Can"

From Toronto To Queens Pum Pum Reigns Supreme

A half-Bajan R&B/hip hop artist from Toronto who’s been doing his thing for a few years now, Tory Lanez has recently begun exploring Caribbean sounds. When Tory’s “LUV,” a reworking of Tanto Metro & Devonte’s worldwide dancehall hit “Everyone Falls In Love,” was described as “Terrible” by OVO stalwart Boi 1da, Tory proceeded to remix Drake’s “Controlla” in a fairly murderous fashion and tweeted that he was “bout to have Jamaica on fire.” Today he drops “We Can,” a sexed-up combination with Kranium which sounds more like Kranium jumping on a Tory Lanez #Swavey R&B track than vice versa. Still their icy machismo nicely complements this gauzy beat from Sak Pase and DJ Marley Waters as two young players pledge allegiance to the pum pum. Audio After The Jump… Read more »

The Yawdie Aubrey Mashes Up The 86 Riddim

In comes a fresh cut from Juss Kool Productions brand news “86 Riddim” a timeless hardcore dancehall riddim that just dropped today as a timely reminder of what the game’s been missing. Many years in the making, the riddim’s title is something of an homage to Dave Kelly’s immortal “85 Riddim” (of “Ghetto Story” fame) and really to the hard-edged digital sound pioneered by the Madhouse maestro. Having honed his craft working alongside the likes of Philip Smart and Bobby Konders, Juss Kool took his time to perfect this bone-cracking track, which the Jamaica-born Drake of Dancehall aka “Yawdy Aubry” (formally known as I Am Stylez Music) tears to shreds. This Stylez selection “Whine Fi Me (Don’t Stop)” has the Instagram dancehall queens going wild—and that can’t be a bad thing. Audio & Video After The Jump… Read more »

Another Gyal Anthem—But Which Part Ah Get Bruk First?

It’s no secret that Konshens is a ladies man. In the past five years, the artiste born Garfield Spence has expressed his affinity for the opposite sex and how much he enjoys seeing them Bounce Like A Ball and Walk and Wine. And in typical SubKonshus Music fashion, the Sherlock native delivers yet another female-friendly record for 2016. Produced by Birchill Records on the popular Moskato Riddim, “Bruk Off Yuh Back” is a call to Kons’ core audience to do just that—or at least bruk sumpn, depending on which version of the tune you prefer—as evidenced in these visual accompaniments (1.5 million & counting!) courtesy of Warrior Films.  Video After The Jump…. No Long Talk: Spice "The Dancehall Heiress"

Whenever You Hear “Scorrrrnnnn Dem!” You Know The Deal

No long talk has been out of action for a bit but they live by the quotes: “If you’ve got nothing constructive to say, say nothing” / “Better to say nothing than chat shit.” And no long talk has their first female. And who better than the hottest female out right now, Spice! “Scorrrrnnnn Dem!” Ahead of the #MoreLife2016 show in London’s o2 Brixton Academy (alongside Tarrus Riley and Assassin aka Agent Sasco), Spice speaks to No Long Talk about her gospel beginnings to X-rated dancehall, almost quitting, why her daughter “does not know who Spice is”, whether dark skin hinders progression in showbiz, and the importance of social media. Cali Reggae Duo Taps The Turf Prez

Rebelution frontman, Eric Rachmany, and DJ/producer Amp Live are definitely on to something with their side project Unified Highway. Ever since Boomshots premiered their video for “My Space” in January the response to their genre-bending sonic alchemy has been overwhelming. “This album is actually pretty diverse,” Eric told us back then. “Every song is a little bit different from the other, so we are excited for people to hear the diversity.” His words are borne out by their latest video, the sun-and-bikini-bonanza called “My Only” featuring sixteen blazing bars from Busy Signal. “Honestly, I’m not saying this to brag or anything but I really feel like this project is groundbreaking. It’s different from anything I’ve ever heard or been a part of.” Leggo. Video After The Jump… Read more »
