Charly Black Rocks New York City

Dancehall Artist With A Certified Diamond Tune Gives Electrifying Performance at Stage 48

Recently obtaining his “wings to fly” (VISA to the U.S.A.), Charly Black took flight to  New York City for a quick press run ahead of next month’s U.S. promotional tour in support of his certified diamond song, “Party Animal.” First stop was Hot 97’s “Ebro In the Morning” Show on January 11 with Ebro, Laura Stylez and DJ Kastone. Later that evening he linked with the Boomshots crew for an in-depth reasoning.  A few days later “the international sensation” (as Ebro described him) flew out to Jazzy T ‘s (Renaissance Sound) Earthstrong Party at Luxy in Toronto. The Trelawny General returned to NYC the following Sunday, drawing in a capacity crowd for his first live performance in New York at Stage 48. More After The Jump…

Jay Upscale and City Elite Group presented this event with renowned NYC selectors to warm up the crowd. Back 2 Basics played some notable Carnival tunes including Marzville’s “Bim Bam,” Ricky T’s “Freaky Girl” and Linky First’s “Rock and Come In.”  Next up was Kevin Crown, who pumped up the crowd even more with soca, reggae and interestingly enough techno, pop and house; “Tonight I’m gonna let you hear what they party to in LA.” Hot 97’s DJ Youngchow delivered some blazing soca, hip-hop and high grade tunes including JW and Blaze’s “Palance” and Marlon Asher ‘s “Ganja Farmer.”

The ladies went into frenzy when Charly Black hit the stage.  He started the crowd off with a number of his classic tunes including “Rich This Year” and “High Grade,” both Coppershot Productions. Then he performed club bangers including “Hoist and Whine,” “Bike Back” and of course the song with great momentum, “Party Animal” (which the crowd demanded an encore performance of). The final selection for the night was his brand new single “V.I.P. Girl” featuring Machel Montano ( produced by Troyton Music) and two ladies from the audience were invited to join Charly on stage. He called one lady from the left and another from the right,  “Come up to the stage, “Slimmaz” (Tanisha Victoria).  Both women looked excited, with the first stating that her name was Dee Dee and it was her birthday. Overall the crowd was impressed with the “Birthday Girl,” who danced erotically with Charly, Kevin Crown and DJ Young Chow. The combination of a great lineup of deejays and a vivacious live performance made this a NYC night to remember.
