Proving he isn’t all bark with no bite, Snoop Lion has taken the initiative to stand firmly behind the words of his single “No Guns Allowed.” The song which features Drake and speaks on the detriments of the national crime rate and highlights the need for gun control is a stepping stone for the Lion’s next project: a gun buyback program. Hear Them Speak About The Song’s Inspiration After The Jump…

Partnering with MTV and Jewelry for a Cause, Snoop will help promote the “MTV x Caliber” bracelets—jewelry made with steel and serial number tags from illegal guns. A portion of the bracelet’s proceeds will go to New Jersey’s Newark Police Department to help further develop future buyback programs. “This is such an important message we’re sharing,” Snoop told MTV. “It’s a movement we want generations to recognize, embrace, and get behind. We’ve seen a lot of senseless acts of violence involving guns recently — too many have lost their lives, too many families have been destroyed. Like my friends at MTV, I want to be a part of the change that will help bring peace.”
